This half of the kitchen is starting to come together. I mocked up the stove in place to see how it will fit (forgot to take a pic before I put it back on the porch).

Kinja'd!!!

Next I need to move back and lower the gas outlet, so the back of the stove can get near the wall, instead of sitting out 3" away from it.

Hammer has claimed the bottom drawer

Unfortunately, today wa s my last day of summer. School doesn’t start until next Wednesday, but I have various meetings this Wednesday-Friday (being the department chair is such a PITA!), and then next Monday and Tuesday are institute days. So, basically I have an entire week of meetings starting tomorrow. Fuuuuuuuuuudge! (But I didn’t say fudge).

I hear you on that, our department chair retired last year and when they asked for people to declare their interest we were all like nope.  Still not sure who the chair is going to be.  I just don’t like meetings and budget stuff that much.

Happy to see the progress, but sorry you're probably going to be exhausted for the rest of the project. It'll be worth it though!

Thanks! It's been helpful to make some visible progress these last few days. The real kick in the pants, is I know I could get the cabinets all in by Friday, if I didn't have to go to all these dang meetings!

Hammer is looking like a great helper with your project.

I think we have a very similar microwave. It was a pain in the butt to install. Hats off to you!

Came here for the kitty content, was not disappointed. It’s like a little kitty fort! FYI you can’t use that shelf now, it is Fort Kitty and will be defended tooth, whisker and claw.

I actually called it a fort myself!

He's gonna be pissed when I put those drawer fronts on!

Thanks! I’ve done one of those before for a friend, so that helped. I had that same friend come over and help me, as it’s definitely a 2-person job!

Oh yeah, he’s always there to trip me when I need him :)

Actually, he stays away when I'm working, which genuinely is helpful.

Definitely a 2 person job! It took Mrs. BaconSandwich and I longer than I'd care to admit to do ours. Thankfully the kids stayed asleep during the whole thing - we finished around 10 pm, and I was surprised they didn't wake up with all the drilling going on.

Isn't it amazing, what kids can sleep through?

Yeah, that first one I did for my buddy a couple years ago, that one took a lot longer. The only hiccup we had this time, was I had forgotten the step of repositioning the fan housing, to direct the air up and out. So, we had to take it back down and fix that, then put it back up. No biggie though.
